Buying an Annual Membership in the Harvest of Blooming Patches CSA Farm

Blooming Patches CSA Farm Annual Membership

Memberships are renewable annually.   Your membership will allow you to share in the harvest of Blooming Patches CSA Farm.

More details about the FARM PRODUCE MEMBERSHIP, including a PDF copy of the 2010 membership form are described on the Farm Produce Membership tab.

For 2010, we are accepting memberships until sold out.   Membership runs from May 1st to April 30th of each year. A full membership costs $300 for the 2010 growing season.   A half-membership (half the produce) is $150.

(Memberships purchased in the Winter and early Spring are paid in installments.   Since we are entering Summer, payment for memberships is made all-at-once.)

Complete the form and mail with payment or stop by.   (It's best to call first, though.)   You may e-mail your intentions to us, but you still need to send or bring in payment with your signed form.

CSA Farms were started as a way for the farmer to have funds when most needed - in the late Winter and early Spring - to start soil preparation and planting.   If the harvest is especially bountiful, you will share in that bounty.   If we have a bad year due to weather conditions or something else unforseen, you will see less benefit from your membership.   Pre-selling CSA memberships allows CSA farmers to know approximately how much to plant, because memberships are pre-sold.   This leads to less waste and more enjoyment of the harvest for all.

From May 1st through October 31st, 2010, Blooming Patches CSA Farm members may pick up produce at the Farm and other items on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.   From June through part of October, we will be at Coit Road Farmers Market in East Cleveland on Mondays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.   We are at Coit Road Farmers Market year-round on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.   Check "Barb's Blog" for hours before May 1st or after October 31st.

We will offer plenty of variety, so you will enjoy many tastes, colors, and textures all season.

Your annual membership is good for the 12 month period beginning May 1st and ending April 30th.   The greatest abundance of produce will be from June through October, but some produce will continue to be available throughout the year.

Please make sure to stop by at least once per week to take full advantage of your membership. You are welcome to come by as often as you like.   Each year, you must renew your membership for continued share in the harvest.

At Blooming Patches CSA Farm, membership is for a year.   The membership price is set in advance.   When you come to the farm (hopefully on a regular basis) to pick up your produce, I will keep track of the value of food distributed to you.   For many families, one membership is enough to carry them for the growing season.   If you are a particularly avid consumer of fresh produce, you may find that you have exhausted your membership benefit before the growing season is done.   If that occurs, you can either purchase an additional 1/2 membership, or just pay cash for available items.

In addition to the harvest items included in your membership, you can also purchase many items from us outside of the pre-paid membership.   Please click on the About Our CSA Farm tab - Bakery & Cheese tab or the Handmade Items tab for details.   Certain non-produce items such as cheese or bakery items may require an advance order.

I do not deliver.   Because you come to us for your farm-fresh produce and other goods, I am able to keep your costs down.   Not delivering also lets me stay "at the farm", where I can be more productive.   Some members from locations 20 and 30 miles away make arrangements with other members in their locality to take turns picking up the weekly produce, and then re-distributing it to other members in their area.   Let me know if your telephone number and/or e-mail address should not be given to others in your area for such coordination.   (I do not otherwise rent, sell, or give away your contact information.)

Please click on the Farm Produce Membership tab to sign up for a Farm Produce membership.
